Averill and Leighton got married on North Stradbroke Island in Queensland and they decided to have an intimate reveal between the two of them before the ceremony. It’s something to consider for your wedding if your not really traditional, and don’t mind that the walk down the aisle is not the first time you see each other on the big day. It can be nice for couples who are a bit crowd shy and want that special moment alone before the ceremony. It can make for some fun photos, and give you extra time for photos if your ceremony is quite late in the afternoon.
I asked Averill to give me a little bit of their story….
“To think it all began with a wink.
When we first met, it wasn’t love at first sight. He was a little shorter than me and didn’t have a car.
But in saying that we did want the same things out of life.
After a few more dates, he grew on me and he did eventually get a car.
About 3 years later – Leighton proposed to me a month before our daughter was due.
We were staying in the city getting ready for a friends 40th in the valley. I was sitting on the edge of the bed
complaining about how big I looked. Leighton then knelt down in front of me with a ring….. ..
The wedding came almost 2 years later. It turned out to be such a beautiful day. A whirl wind fairy tale that I wish I
could do again in slow motion. I’m glad we had Nina to capture the day for us.
